Lesson 1: The Image of G-d Within a Person
"And God said [to His angels], 'Let us make mankind (Adam) in Our image, after Our likeness. They shall rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and over the animal, the whole earth, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.' So God [Himself] created mankind in His image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
These Biblical verses address the creation and the dominion of mankind. God's intention in this is to bring about the perfection and spiritual elevation of mankind, and of the world. These two goals are explained in this course: the Perfection and Elevation of Mankind (Tikkun Ha'Adam) and the Perfection and Elevation of the World (Tikkun Ha'Olam).
